What is the Gospel?

The Gospel is the Good News of what God has done through Christ to bring salvation to all who believe.

Everyone sins and is therefore separated from God (Romans 3:23 - "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.").

The punishment for our sin is eternal separation from God (Romans 6:23a - "For the wages of sin is death.").

BUT God sent His one and ONLY Son, Jesus, to take on the penalty for our sins. The price Jesus paid was His life, dying a death of crucifixion on a cross for our sake (John 3:16 - For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that everyone who believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.")(Romans 6:23b - "But the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.").

It is through Jesus' death that we are able to be reconciled to God and have a relationship with Him (2 Corinthians 5:18-19 - All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people's sins against them.").
